HBKU College of Law Opens Applications for Professor Role
The appointment may be made at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor, depending on the applicant’s academic qualifications, teaching record, research experience, and professional standing.
Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s College of Law in Doha, Qatar, has invited applications for an open-rank professor position for the 2025–2026 academic year.
The appointment may be made at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor, depending on the applicant’s academic qualifications, teaching record, research experience, and professional standing.
Successful candidates will be expected to teach in the College’s JD, LL.M., and S.J.D. programmes, while contributing to legal research, curriculum development, student supervision, and service within the university community.
The College is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in property law, intellectual property law, and other areas within its law curriculum. Experience in constitutional law, torts, data privacy, artificial intelligence, healthcare law, and international or comparative law may also be relevant.
Applicants should hold a PhD or terminal degree in law from an accredited university and demonstrate strong potential or proven excellence in teaching, research, and academic service. A record of scholarly publication, funded research, regional and international collaboration, and the ability to work in a diverse academic environment will be an advantage.
Arabic proficiency is also considered beneficial.
HBKU, a member of Qatar Foundation, is a research-focused graduate university established in 2010. The university says its mission is to advance knowledge, build human capacity, and support positive transformation in Qatar, the region, and the wider world.
