The Greater Accra Regional Branch of the Ghana Bar Association has launched a pro bono legal outreach program to kick off its annual Law Week celebrations, aimed at improving public access to justice through free, technology-enabled legal services.

The initiative, which will offer professional legal assistance voluntarily and without charge, is being organized in collaboration with the Legal Aid Commission. It seeks to provide essential legal help to underserved communities and highlight the evolving role of lawyers in driving social impact.

Speaking at the launch event in Accra, Isabel Boaten, president of the Greater Accra Regional Bar, emphasized that the program goes beyond offering free legal support. It aims to enhance the overall quality and perception of legal practice in Ghana.

This year's Law Week is themed “The Future-Fit Lawyer: Enhancing Technology, Entrepreneurship, Excellence, and Service to the Community,” reflecting the growing importance of technology and innovation in the legal profession.

The outreach also seeks to involve young lawyers, capitalizing on their enthusiasm to expand legal services to vulnerable populations and promote justice for all.
