The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has launched the Modified Tax System (MTS) and Sustainable Tax Education Program in a major push to promote voluntary tax compliance and strengthen domestic revenue mobilisation.

The event, held at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, brought together key partners from the Ministry of Finance, MASLOC, the African Development Bank (AfDB), and Eban Capital Ltd.

The initiative forms part of the Eban Capital–MASLOC Digital Transformation Project, which integrates the MTS into MASLOC’s lending and savings platforms.

Through this collaboration, traders, artisans, and micro and small enterprises—especially members of the Association of Small-Scale Industries (ASSI)—can register, file taxes, and access loans digitally.

The new platform is designed to help informal sector workers build verifiable tax and credit records, making them eligible for digital loans from MASLOC and partner financial institutions.

The pilot phase of the integration begins in December 2025, with a nationwide rollout planned for 2026.

Eban Capital Ltd is providing the technology backbone, while the AfDB’s support ensures alignment with its Africa-wide agenda for sustainable revenue mobilisation.

Speakers from the GRA, Ministry of Finance, and MASLOC underscored the project’s role in promoting financial inclusion and digital innovation for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
