Gospel musician Empress Gifty sues Agradaa, claims GHS 20 million as damages
The plaintiff is further seeking from the court an order for the Defendant to pull down all the videos and audios in which she spoke the defamatory words of the Plaintiff from all her social media handles.

Sensational Ghanaian gospel artist and TV presenter Empress Gifty Oppong Adorye has sued Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly called Nana Agradaa, for defamation, claiming the sum of twenty million Ghanaian cedis (GHS 20,000,000.00) in damages.
The plaintiff is further seeking from the court the following reliefs:
An order of perpetual injunction to restrain the Defendant, her servants, agents, privies, assigns howsoever from publication of such words or any of them or similar words to that effect.
An order for the Defendant to pull down all the videos and audios in which she spoke the defamatory words of the Plaintiff from all her social media handles.
Cost, including lawyer’s professional fees.
According to the writ of summons and statement of claim signed by Sam Kyere, Esq., of
Ossei-Aidooh Akpokavie Kyere & Co., the plaintiff, who is a renowned, award-winning gospel musician and host of United Showbiz, an award-winning television program aired on UTV nationwide, avers that on May 13, 2025, the defendant allegedly made defamatory comments in a live broadcast on Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, including the following in Twi:
“wo tuutuuni yere no mpo wo bu no, wo yere adwamanfos no mpo wo bu no, nkraman ne wo yere da tajri wo yere twe mu di sika bre wo.”
To with "You even respect your promiscuous wife, you respect even that wife of yours who is a prostitute, your wife flirts with dogs, dogs lick your wife's vagina; that is how she makes money to cater for you."
Additional Defamatory Statements
Twi:
“asafoo biara a, abeto nsa afre wo yere ako alter, ne no da wa Office ho ansa na w’aba abeto dwom wa asenka agua so.”
English:
“Pastors who invite your wife to sing have sexual intercourse with her in their offices before she mounts the pulpit to sing.”
Twi:
“Woyere no, ayefɔ sene obiara, adwaman nti Asafoo ne no de da, wo agyae no, rebɛtɛtɛ me.”
English:
“You left your cheap prostitute wife, who has sexual intercourse with pastors, to attack me.”
Twi:
“Wo nkwaseasem no a, wode ko wo yere kwasea no so no, Me nnye toy te sɛ wo yere mo, me nnyi me hnwene te sɛ wo yere, Wo yere no a, ne twɛ adane asafoɔ no bi chop bar bowl.”
English:
“I’m not a toy like your wife, I have not repositioned my nose like your wife, do not extend the foolish things you do to her to me. Your wife’s vagina has become a common eating bowl for some pastors.”
In consequence, the plaintiff avers that her credit and reputation—both personal and public—have been seriously damaged, exposing her to public ridicule, scandal, odium, and contempt.
She adds that as a brand ambassador to numerous companies, she has suffered collateral damage, and her international programs scheduled for August 2025 have been negatively affected due to the defamatory statements made by the defendant.
She is thus praying the court for the reliefs endorsed on the writ and statement of claim accordingly.
