Gomoa Afransi: Man arrested for allegedly beheading Okada rider
The suspect, identified as Augustine Ankomah, a fellow Okada rider in his 30s, allegedly attempted to sell the severed head to a Togolese woman in the same village where the gruesome act took place.

The Agona Swedru Divisional Police Command has arrested a man suspected of beheading an Okada rider in Kwame Adwen, a village near Gomoa Afransi in the Central Region's Gomoa Central District.
The suspect, identified as Augustine Ankomah, a fellow Okada rider in his 30s, allegedly attempted to sell the severed head to a Togolese woman in the same village where the gruesome act took place.
According to information from the Swedru Divisional Police Command, Ankomah approached the woman on Saturday, December 14, offering to sell her a human head. Alarmed by the encounter, the woman quickly informed a local herbalist (whose identity has been withheld for security reasons), also a resident of the village, about the suspect's proposal.
The herbalist, acting on the information, mobilized some of the village youth and set up an ambush at the woman’s house. True to his word, Ankomah reportedly arrived with the severed head, at which point the group apprehended him. Upon closer inspection, the head was identified as belonging to Kwame Fosu, an Okada rider believed to have been murdered six days prior.
The suspect, along with his accomplices, was handed over to the police for further investigation. Authorities confirmed that Ankomah is currently being held at the Winneba Police Station.
The police report further states that the suspect is scheduled to appear in court today, Monday, December 16, 2024.
