The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has halted the activities of NK Benark Enterprise, a Tier 2 licensed gold buying firm, after suspending its operating license. All outlets run by the company have been ordered closed with immediate effect.

GoldBod, in a statement dated Tuesday, September 16, 2025, explained that the suspension followed allegations implicating the business in a series of gold-related offences.

The company’s owner, Bernard Nkrumah, has already been apprehended and is facing prosecution before the High Court.

In the same notice, GoldBod issued a strong warning to miners, traders, and members of the public, advising them not to engage in any form of gold dealings with NK Benark Enterprise.

The Board reiterated that the suspension forms part of its wider mandate to promote accountability and transparency in gold trading. It further emphasized that the step reflects its resolve to enforce industry regulations with utmost strictness.
