GIMPA Law lecturer to head OSP Prosecutions Division
The Division, one of its seven(7), is in charge of prosecuting cases in line with the mandate of the OSP.
A lecturer and Head of Public Law at the GIMPA Law school, Dr. Isidore Tufuor has been appointed Director of the Prosecutions Division at the Office of the Special Prosecutor(OSP) of Ghana.
The Division, one of its seven(7), is in charge of prosecuting cases in line with the mandate of the OSP.
As such, Dr. Tuffuor is expected to lead the team to prosecute corruption and corruption-related cases such as dishonestly receiving property, extortion, using public office for profit, corruption of and by a public officer or juror, a corrupt promise by a judicial officer or juror, corrupt selection of juror, etc submitted to it by the Investigation Division.
Designed as a comprehensive anti-graft agency with investigative, prosecutorial, intelligence gathering, surveillance and counter surveillance, police, national security, and revenue-generating powers, the OSP also acts on referrals from Parliament, Auditor General, etc.
Furthermore, the Office acts on complaints from private entities and individuals.
