The U.S. Embassy in Ghana has confirmed the extradition of Joseph Badu Boateng, popularly known as "Dada Joe Remix," to the United States, where he is set to face multiple fraud-related charges.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the embassy disclosed that the operation was a joint effort involving its Diplomatic Security Service (DSS), Ghanaian authorities, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The coordinated action led to the suspect’s transfer to the U.S. to answer to allegations of orchestrating a sophisticated fraud ring.
Boateng is accused of leading a network that targeted American victims through romance and inheritance scams, reportedly swindling millions of dollars in the process.
Now in U.S. custody, Boateng is expected to stand trial for the charges against him. The Embassy praised the cooperation between both countries’ law enforcement bodies, reaffirming their commitment to combating transnational crime.
