Ghanaian elected President of Middle Temple’s Young Barristers Association
Silas Boateng secured the position after a vote held on 7 April 2026, with the result later announced on 20 April.
A Ghanaian lawyer trained in the United Kingdom has been elected President of the Middle Temple Young Barristers’ Association, placing him at the head of a body representing young barristers called to the Bar of England and Wales through Middle Temple.
Silas Boateng secured the position after a vote held on 7 April 2026, with the result later announced on 20 April.
His election marks the latest step in a leadership journey that has stretched from student life in Ghana to the Bar in England and Wales.
Before taking up the presidency, Boateng served as Vice President of the association between 2025 and 2026. The organisation operates within Middle Temple, one of the four Inns of Court responsible for calling students to the Bar in England and Wales.
Boateng began his legal education in Ghana, where he obtained an LLB from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration in 2020.
He later moved to the UK to pursue the Bar Course at the University of Law, before being called to the Bar of England and Wales at Middle Temple. He joined the Honourable Society of Middle Temple in 2021.
His record shows a pattern of leadership across different stages of his academic and professional development.
Among the roles he has held are Debate Officer of the Middle Temple Students’ Association, Chair of the Disciplinary Committee of the GIMPA SRC, Justice of the GIMPA SRC Judicial Council, and President of the GIMPA NCCE Constitutional Club.
The new position places him in a representative role for young barristers within one of the oldest and most respected legal institutions in England and Wales.
