The Ghana School of Law is set to establish a permanent presence in Kumasi, following the generous allocation of 1.1 acres of land by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

This marks a pivotal moment for the institution as it transitions from being a tenant at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to having its own dedicated campus.

Situated near the court complex in Kumasi’s central business district, the new campus aligns with the school’s strategy of positioning its facilities close to judicial centers.

This move is expected to enhance students’ legal education by providing them with practical exposure to the legal system.

Expressing gratitude for the gesture, the Director of the Ghana School of Law, Justice Nana Barima Yaw Kodie Oppong, emphasized the significance of the land donation.

Justice Oppong made these remarks during the induction ceremony of 222 new law students admitted to the professional law course for the 2024/2025 academic year.

The event marked the formal integration of students who successfully passed the entrance examination, which saw participation from approximately 5,000 applicants.

With the new inductees, the Ghana School of Law has welcomed over 1,400 fresh students into its professional law program. Addressing them, the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Chris Adomako Kwakye, underscored the importance of ethical conduct in legal practice.

Adding to the discussion, the President of the Ashanti Region Bar Association, Kwame Owusu Sekyere, urged the students to carry themselves with integrity and professionalism.
