The Greater Accra Regional Bar is set to host GAR Law Week 2026 under the theme, “Corporate Governance Rebooted: From Rules To Transformation,” with a focus on strengthening the role of lawyers in preventing institutional failure and promoting accountable leadership.

The theme underscores the critical place of legal professionals in shaping governance outcomes, whether in dispute resolution, transactional practice, advisory work, or institutional reform.

According to the Association, the quality of governance advice provided by lawyers often determines whether an organisation benefits from early course-correction or descends into a full-blown institutional crisis.

The discussions are expected to equip lawyers with sharper professional judgment, greater clarity, courage, accountability, and foresight in addressing governance challenges across both public and private institutions.

As part of the programme, the Law Week will feature a Prisons Case Support Initiative from 10th to 13th July 2026, with the mode of implementation to be announced.

On 11th July 2026, the Bar will also undertake legal outreach activities across the Greater Accra Region through legal clinics, legal education, and public awareness engagements. Venues for the outreach activities will be announced later.

The main Law Week Conference and CPD Sessions will take place on 14th July 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Ridge, Accra, followed by a cocktail party at the same venue.

Members of the Bar, law firms, and stakeholders in the legal profession have been encouraged to register through the official website of the Greater Accra Regional Bar and actively participate in what organisers describe as an impactful, inspiring, and memorable GAR Law Week 2026.

Junior lawyers of up to two years at the Bar were also offered a 20 percent discount on registration fees for payments made by midnight of 2nd July 2026, reducing their registration fee to GHS200.
