he Supreme Court has dismissed all consolidated suits challenging the process that led to the removal of former Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo.
The decision was unanimous.
The cases were filed by Vincent Ekow Assafuah, Theodore Kofi Atta Quartey, former Chief Justice Torkornoo, and the Centre for Citizenship, Constitutional and Electoral Systems.
The suits raised constitutional objections to the processes activated in respect of petitions seeking the former Chief Justice’s removal from office.
After consolidating the related actions, the Supreme Court considered the issues placed before it and rejected the challenges.
