Full judgment: Agradaa’s 15-year jail term cut to 12 months by Amasaman High Court
The court upheld her conviction but said the 15-year sentence, which included hard labour, was disproportionate in the circumstances, even though a custodial sentence remained appropriate.
The Amasaman High Court has reduced the 15-year prison sentence imposed on evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, widely known as Nana Agradaa, to one year, ruling that the original punishment was excessive.
The court upheld her conviction but said the 15-year sentence, which included hard labour, was disproportionate in the circumstances, even though a custodial sentence remained appropriate.
Alongside the reduced term, the court also imposed a fine of 200 penalty units, amounting to GH¢2,400.
The revised sentence is to run from the date of her conviction on 3 July 2025, meaning she will serve a total of 12 months in prison.
