EOCO excels at Internal Audit Agency Conference
The awards were presented to leaders of government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies that have effectively provided logistical support and strengthened the capacity of their internal audit units.
The Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) received recognition from the Internal Audit Agency (IAA) on Thursday, August 22, 2024, for its outstanding leadership and performance in various categories at the 2024 Conference and Awards.
The awards were presented to leaders of government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies that have effectively provided logistical support and strengthened the capacity of their internal audit units.
In 2023, EOCO successfully recovered over GHC 232 million for the state, comprising both direct and indirect recoveries from proceeds of crime.
Following an audit assessment for the 2023/2024 auditing year, EOCO was recognized as the best in several categories, including Best Audit Committee (Accountability Institutions), Best ERM Compliant Institution (Accountability Institutions), Best Internal Audit Unit (Accountability Institutions), and Best Head of Covered Entity (Accountability Institutions).
Dr. E. O. Osae, the Director-General of the Internal Audit Agency, commended EOCO for its performance and encouraged the organization to maintain its high standards.
EOCO's Executive Director, COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah (Mrs), accepted the awards on behalf of the organization. She expressed her gratitude to the IAA for the recognition, stating that the awards would serve as a motivation for her and her staff to continue their diligent work in compliance with auditing standards.
Other institutions recognized at the ceremony included the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), the University of Cape Coast, the Bui Power Authority, and the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
