EasyJet suspends pilot for going naked, drunk at hotel

Guests claim that around 2:30 a.m. local time, he removed his clothes and roamed through the hotel reception, gym, and spa, smelling strongly of alcohol.

EasyJet has suspended one of its captains after he was allegedly spotted wandering naked and intoxicated through a five-star resort in Cape Verde in the early hours of 5 August.
According to The Sun, the unnamed pilot had been drinking heavily at the Melia Dunas Beach Resort and Spa shortly after arriving on the island on 4 August. Guests claim that around 2:30 a.m. local time, he removed his clothes and roamed through the hotel reception, gym, and spa, smelling strongly of alcohol.
The captain was due to fly passengers from Cape Verde to London Gatwick more than a day later, but the airline replaced him after complaints were lodged about his behaviour.
An EasyJet spokesperson confirmed to the BBC that the pilot was immediately removed from duty and will face an internal investigation, stressing that “the safety of our passengers and crew is EasyJet’s highest priority.”
The airline’s code of ethics requires staff to conduct themselves with integrity in all professional and public interactions.
