The Odumasi Krobo Circuit Court has jailed an 18-year-old JHS 2 pupil of the Otorkpolu Presby Basic School in the Eastern Region, Eric Tetteh-Yeye for defiling a 4-year-old daughter of his teacher.
Appearing before the court presided over by Mr. Frank Degbe, the Police prosecutor, Detective Chief Inspector Dan Apedo noted that on July 4, 2022, at about 4 pm, the accused was helping the complainant, who happens to be his teacher and father of the 4-year-old victim at his grinding mill shop.
After the teacher had left the shop to go and purchase some stuff, leaving the entire shop under the care of the 18-year-old pupil, he called the victim, who was playing in the shop’s environment to go and fetch water for him.
When the girl responded to the call and entered the shop with the mind of being sent, the accused person locked the same, removed the victim’s pants, and forcefully had sex with her.
Moreover, the prosecutor noted that after the incident, the girl began to experience vaginal pains and thus complained to the mum who examined her.
Upon the examination, the mother observed blood stains and sperm drops thus immediately alerting the father and they took her to the Asesewa Hospital.
The Hospital per the Medical report signed by Doctor Samuel Atuah confirmed that the victim had been defiled and had thus had her hymen broken.
Subsequently, a formal complaint was made to the Police at Otorkpolu who immediately apprehended the accused person, and kept him in the police cells pending further investigation.
The court presided over by Mr. Frank Degbe thus sentenced him to seven(7) years in prison.
