Police in the Central Region have arrested a 70-year-old man for burying alive his two-year-old autistic grandson.
According to the police, the suspect, Kwaku Baah is said to have acted on the direction of a ritualist, who claimed the boy was a spirit child.
The parents of the child have also been arrested because police believe 70-year-old Kwaku Baah acted in connivance with them.
‘All of them [the parents] have been arrested because they both conspired with the grandfather, Kwaku Baah, to do that. So they have all been arrested, and they are in our custody,” the Elmina Police Commander, Supt. Abraham Bansah is reported to have said on JoyNews.
“According to them, the child is a boy of special needs or something like that; so, they needed to get rid of the child. The advice was given to them by one ritualist called Kwaku Baa. He is on the run.”
Police say the boy would have died if not for the timely intervention of its personnel.
