Flagbearer hopeful of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Dr Kwabena Duffuor has withdrawn his interlocutory injunction directed at the NDC from holding its presidential and parliamentary primaries scheduled for May 13, 2023.

“I have instructions to discount the case. The discussion came up this morning for which reason I could not file the necessary processes”, his lawyer, Opoku Amponsah told the court this morning when the case was called.

The court, therefore, struck out the application as withdrawn.

Dr. Duffuor in his writ filed on May 7, 2023, had raised issues concerning the accuracy of the register of delegates to be relied on for the party's upcoming primaries.

He was therefore praying the court to put on hold the elections, pending the production of the party to him, a credible photo register of delegates in the 275 constituencies of the country.

Having withdrawn the suit, his team has indicated that they would look to resolve the issues internally.
