Dotse (JSC) retires on June 8
Per the constitution, in article Article 145(4) the Chief Justice has the power to give retiring Justices six months extension which is dependent on the individual judge to accept or otherwise.
A Justice of Ghana's Supreme Court, Jones Mawulorm Dotse is expected to retire this year on June 8.
He made this known in court on April 5 thus notifying parties in the various cases to abide by the court's instruction for speedy outcomes.

Justice Dotse’s background
Having graduated from the University of Ghana in 1976 with a Law degree, Justice Dotse was later awarded a BL in Law from the Ghana School of Law in 1978 and was called to the Bar in the same year.
For three years, he worked as a State Attorney and then went into private practice for 20 years. During his time at the Bar, he rose to become President of the Volta Regional Bar Association and also specialized in Alternative dispute Resolution (ADR).
In 2002, he was appointed to the Bench as a High Court Judge where he served for seven years. And in 2008, he was elevated to the Supreme Court of Ghana.
He has sat on various notable and high-profile cases including the two presidential election petitions, Mensah vrs Mensah, the State vrs Alfred Woyome and Waterville case, the MV Benjamin Cocaine case, and many others.
