The Dormaahene and president of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II has called for the strict enforcement of the regulations on building permits.

According to him, such a move would make it difficult or even impossible for people who do not possess titles to land to construct on the same.

He noted further that the situation where buildings by non-title holders have to be demolished will also be a thing of the past.

The Dormaahene made this known at the 2022 Seminar of the Land Surveyors Division of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors held in Sunyani last Thursday.

Referring to the Land Act 2022, he charged surveyors at the various Metropolitan, Municipal, and Assemblies to exact their duties on schemes before registration begins.

Additionally, he was optimistic that the land value chain is a sector that could be positively exploited and thus was not happy about the piecemeal approach that is instead giving birth to quacks in the industry.

Subsequently, Oseadeeyo advised the Lands Commission officials to exhibit a high sense of patriotism by bringing to book those in their fold who are responsible for long litigations resulting in needless loss of lives per their unhealthy practices.

The two-day seminar was on the theme; “Coordinated implementation and management of local plans for the socio-economic development of Ghana”
