The legal representatives of the Fosu Royal Family of Parkoso and Nsuta have issued a firm response to allegations raised by Akosua Serwah Fosuh, the Germany-based woman claiming sole rights over the funeral and estate of the late highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, widely known as Daddy Lumba.

In a letter dated October 1, 2025, and signed by Fati Ali-Yallah of Baba Jamal & Associates, the family’s lawyers clarified that Mrs. Fosuh has no authority to dictate how the family should organize or manage the funeral rites of the late musician.

According to the letter, Mrs. Fosuh, who was formerly married to Daddy Lumba, abandoned the marital relationship nearly 15 years ago when the musician’s health deteriorated and he relocated to Ghana. The lawyers stated that her act of presenting traditional drinks to the family symbolized a customary divorce, recognized under Akan traditional law.

The family’s counsel further emphasized that the Fosu Royal Family recognizes Priscilla Ofori, popularly known as Odo Broni, as the lawful partner of the late musician, noting that she lived with him for over 15 years and bore six children with him.

On the issue of the musician’s estate, the letter explained that all assets and properties of the late artist are part of his estate and will be jointly administered by the family and his children to ensure fair and transparent distribution. The lawyers warned all parties to refrain from interfering with the properties until a lawful and equitable process is concluded.

The statement also revealed that Baba Jamal & Associates is in possession of specific instructions left by Daddy Lumba before his death, outlining his wishes regarding funeral arrangements and management of his estate, which will guide the family’s next steps.

Concluding the correspondence, the Fosu Royal Family called for calm and cooperation, urging Mrs. Fosuh and all interested parties to pursue peaceful dialogue to ensure that the late music icon receives a dignified and harmonious burial befitting his legacy.
