Three suspects linked to the alleged kidnapping and murder of mobile phone dealer Nana Yaw Kyere, popularly known as Dinero, have appeared before the Teshie District Court.

The suspects are Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams and Josiah Obodai.

They were brought before the court as police investigations into the death of the 33-year-old phone dealer continue.

The charge sheet was read to them, after which they left the courtroom.

The case has been adjourned to October 16, 2026.

Nana Yaw Kyere was reported missing on September 22 after he failed to return home from his residence at Kokomlemle in Accra.

Police say he had left home on September 19 in his Honda Civic.

According to preliminary investigations, Sarah Osei Adams allegedly lured him to the residence of Philip Tefe at Teshie Agbleza.

Police say Tefe and Adams later confessed to their involvement in the incident.

Investigators allege that Tefe attacked Kyere during a confrontation and struck him with a metallic object.

Kyere was then reportedly moved into another room and left unattended.

Police say he later died.

Investigators further allege that his body was transported in a Kia Morning vehicle to an area near the motorway on September 20.

The body was allegedly dumped in a bush and set ablaze.

A partially burnt body was found at Community 18 the following day.

Kyere’s biological mother and an uncle later identified the body at the Police Hospital morgue on September 24.

Police have also recovered Kyere’s iPhone 12.

Investigators allege that Tefe sold the phone for GH¢100.

The alleged buyer, Sunday Omeje, has been cautioned and detained on suspicion of dishonestly receiving the phone.

Josiah Obodai was arrested over his alleged role in the disposal of the body.

Police have also impounded a Kia Morning belonging to Obodai’s father, which is believed to have been used to transport the body.

The three suspects remain in police custody.

Police say investigations are continuing to establish the full circumstances of Kyere’s death and to identify any other persons who may have been involved.
