Court grants Funny Face bail with two sureties

The Kaneshie District Court has granted Comedian Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, popularly known as Funny Face, a GH¢ 20,000 bail with two sureties.

The court has also ordered that he reports to the Police twice a week.

He was expected to appear in court on November 10. However, after undergoing two medical examinations, the Accra Psychiatric hospital discharged him and a full medical report was submitted to the court.

The case has been adjourned to November 24, 2021.

On October 19, the police arrested Funny Face for threatening to kill his ex-wife and girlfriend, after which he said he would commit suicide.

When the court preside over the matter the next day, it asked the police to refer the accused to the psychiatric hospital for examination.

The court also urged the accused to stay away from social media for a month.

He was charged with the threat of death, and had his plea reserved by the Court.
