The founder of the Heaven Way Church in Weija, Patricia Asieduaa, aka Nana Agradaa, has been granted GH¢150,000 by the Accra Circuit Court 10 on charges of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence.

This comes a week after she was granted bail by Circuit Court 9, for the same charges.

Having maintained a plea of not guilty, she is facing one count of charlatanic advertisement and six counts of defrauding by false pretence under Act 29 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960.

The case at Circuit Court 9 has been adjourned to November 10, 2022, while the other at Circuit Court 10 has been adjourned to November 15, 2022.

Background

Agradaa was arrested on October 9, 2022, following allegations of a money-doubling scam.

According to reports, Agradaa is said to have earlier promised on TV to give away GH¢300,000 to her congregation with the guarantee of doubling any amount of money an individual offers her.

She is then later said to have shut her church doors and absconded, after taking monies from various individuals.

She was remanded twice by Circuit Court 9 and subsequently granted a GHC 50,000 bail on October 17, 2022.

The police arraigned her on October 14, 2022, for the same charges at Circuit Court 10.
