The High Court in Accra has postponed the hearing of applications filed by four National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidates who are seeking a Stay of Execution of the Court's order.

When the case was called on January 13, it was found that the NPP side had not been served with the process, and thereby a request was made by the NDC counsel for an adjournment.

The court thus acceded to the request and adjourned the case indefinitely.

The NDC's application for a stay of execution follows a January 4 ruling by the High Court, presided over by Justice Forson Baah Agyapong. The ruling directed the Electoral Commission (EC) to compile results from certain polling stations and declare winners for the constituencies of Tema Central, Okaikwei Central, Ablekuma North, and Techiman South.

Shortly after the ruling, the NDC, as an interested party, filed motions to halt the implementation of the orders and submitted a notice of appeal.
