CCTV leads to arrest of Kasoa burglary suspect in Agbogbloshie
The suspect, identified as Ibrahim Abubakar Sadiq, was tracked down and arrested on June 16, 2025, at his hideout in Agbogbloshie, Accra.
The Ghana Police Service has apprehended a man suspected of committing a burglary at Kasoa Nyanyano, thanks to footage captured by a CCTV camera.
The suspect, identified as Ibrahim Abubakar Sadiq, was tracked down and arrested on June 16, 2025, at his hideout in Agbogbloshie, Accra. Notably, he was still wearing the same outfit he had on during the break-in, which made identification easier.
A police statement issued on Saturday revealed that Sadiq was caught on camera during the crime, which led to a swift investigation. Items reported stolen include an iPhone 14 Pro Max worth GH¢9,000, a Barclays Bank ATM card, a UK driver’s license, and £2,000 in cash.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the burglary and admitted to selling the stolen iPhone at Agbogbloshie for just GH¢2,000 to an unidentified buyer.
Sadiq remains in police custody and is assisting with further investigations. Authorities say he will soon be brought before the court.
