Cape Coast court jails fisherman 10 years for defiling 13-year-old girl

A Circuit Court in Cape Coast has sentenced 49-year-old fisherman Samuel Armah, also known as “Kofi Nyan,” to 10 years’ imprisonment with hard labour after he pleaded guilty to defiling a 13-year-old girl at Mumford in the Central Region.
According to a statement from the Central Regional Police Command issued on October 29, 2025, the offence occurred on October 16, 2025, when the accused lured the victim into a ghetto and committed the act, which was captured in a viral video.
The case was heard at Circuit Court Two, Cape Coast, presided over by Her Honour Nana Aba Quiba Nunoo, where Armah pleaded guilty to the charge of defilement.
The victim was taken to St. Luke Catholic Hospital for medical examination and treatment, after which the case was referred to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Central Region.
During investigations at DOVVSU, Armah reportedly admitted to the offence and has since been transferred to Ankaful Prison to begin serving his sentence.
Police have also launched a manhunt for four accomplices identified as Agoogo, Edina, Kwesi Abbam, and Agya Ankoto, who are currently on the run.
Authorities are appealing to residents of Mumford and surrounding communities to voluntarily assist in locating the suspects to ensure justice is fully served.
