Blogger granted GH¢50,000 bail in alleged ‘false publication’ case against ex-NCA chair
He faces the charges of publication of false news with intent to cause fear and panic — Section 208(1) of Act 29 and Publication of false news using electronic systems — Section 123 of the Electronic Transactions Act, Act 772.

A Circuit Court in Accra has released blogger Samuel Amadotor, operator of the news site Dklassgh.net, on GH¢50,000 bail with two sureties after he was arraigned for allegedly circulating false content about the former Board Chairman of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Okatakyie Boakye Danquah Ababio II.
Her Ladyship Evelyn Asamoah, who presided over proceedings, read out two charges:
Publication of false news with intent to cause fear and panic — Section 208(1) of Act 29
Publication of false news using electronic systems — Section 123 of the Electronic Transactions Act, Act 772
Amadotor pleaded not guilty to both counts.
Police investigators told the court that the blogger was picked up from his residence after allegedly publishing online stories and videos said to injure the reputation of the former NCA Board Chair. The complainant is reported to have lodged a formal complaint, prompting the arrest.
Following brief submissions by both sides, the court granted bail. While the ruling did not outline specific reasons for the bail decision, defence counsel Jerry Avenorgbo described the outcome as a welcome development.
The matter has now been adjourned, with the full trial expected to continue after Amadotor satisfies his bail conditions.
