Bees invade Suhum Circuit Court, disrupt proceedings

Normal proceedings at the Suhum Circuit Court were thrown into chaos in the afternoon of Friday, September 26, 2025, when a swarm of bees invaded the premises, sending judges, lawyers, staff, and visitors scrambling for safety.
The incident happened around 1:00 p.m., forcing the suspension of court activities. An 11-member rescue team from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station, led by ASTNO Duodu Michael, arrived at 1:48 p.m. to assess the situation.
The Fire Service reported that the operation began at 1:58 p.m., with officers carefully working to disperse the swarm. After nearly two hours of containment efforts, the bees were brought under control, and the premises were declared safe.
Relieved court staff later commended the firefighters for their swift and professional intervention, which ensured no injuries were recorded during the unusual disruption.
