Bank of Ghana closes Dek-Nock Investments for taking deposits without licence

This action is in accordance with Section 20(2)(g) of the Banks and Specialised Deposit-taking Institutions Act, 2016 (Act 930).

The Bank of Ghana in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service has closed down Dek-Nock Investments, located at Nungua and Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region.

This action is in accordance with Section 20(2)(g) of the Banks and Specialised Deposit-taking Institutions Act, 2016 (Act 930). 

A statement by the Central Bank states that Dek-Nock Investments was engaged in unauthorized deposit-taking contrary to Section 6(1) of Act 930.

It adds that the Ghana Police Service is conducting further investigations into the operations of Dek-Nock Investments.

The statement therefore urges the general public and customers of Dek-Nock Investments to remain calm while investigations continue and that they will be kept informed of the next line of action. 

The Bank has per the statement further revealed that it will continue to clamp down on illegal deposit-taking operations and all offenders shall be dealt with in accordance with the law.
