A Circuit Court at Adentan has today, November 4, 2021, issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the CEO of the defunct Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah popularly called NAM 1, and two others; Gabriel Kwamigah and Eric Amponsah.

The 3 persons have been charged with conspiracy to defraud by false pretence.

On November 2, 2021, the court presided over by Mrs. Sedinam Awo Balokah, threatened to issue a bench warrant for the arrest of the three after they failed to appear in court.

However, their lawyer Mr.Dankwah argued that criminal summons should rather be served personally on the parties and not through someone.

Furthermore, he notified the court of his clients’ unavailability in the Jurisdiction noting that they were in Tamale.

Also, he wondered if his clients were being persecuted and indicated that they would also sue the police for ‘malicious prosecution.’

On its part, the court challenged the defense counsel to produce a number, purported to have called his client personally to appear in court.

However, they failed to appear in court on Thursday in defiance of a November 2 ruling of the Court.

The Police Investigator, Chief Inspector Maxwell Lanyo informed the court about the accused persons’ failure to honour several invitations by his outfit.

This was after the lawyer for the 3 persons had informed the court of his clients’ unavailability in court.

Meanwhile, the court has adjourned the case indefinitely.
