Ambulance case: Military secretary testifies in court
When he mounted the witness box yesterday, he told the court that Mr. Richard Jakpa was not honorably discharged from the military.

The Military Secretary of the Ghana Armed Forces, Air Commodore Nana Joseph Adu-Gyamfi has testified in the ongoing case involving the minority leader in Parliament, Cassiel Ato Forson, and Businessman, Richard Jakpa.
When he mounted the witness box yesterday, he told the court that Mr. Richard Jakpa was not honorably discharged from the military.
Buttressing the above, he indicated that according to military regulations, Mr. Jakpa did not meet the criteria for an honorable release.
Air Commodore Adu-Gyamfi, summoned as a witness for Mr. Jakpa, made these known when he responded to questions during cross-examination by Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mr. Godfred Dame Yeboah.
Mr. Jakpa, along with Dr. Forson and Dr. Sylvester Anemana (a former Chief Director of the Ministry of Health), faces charges of causing financial loss to the state.
However, the charges against Dr. Anemana were dropped as he is currently abroad for medical treatment.
Dr. Forson was granted self-recognizance bail of GH¢3 million for allegedly causing a financial loss of 2,370,000 euros to the state and faces an additional charge of intentionally misapplying public property.
The trial, presided over by Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe, is tentatively set to conclude on November 15, 2024.
A former Minister for Health, Dr. Alex Segbefia is expected to appear in court on July 22, 2024. On the other hand, Lt. General Oppong-Peprah and a former Deputy Controller and Accountant General, Mr. Andrews K. K. Kuffe will be led by Mr. Thaddaus Sory to testify on July 25, 2024.
Further, the Director of the Ghana Ambulance Service, Professor Nuhu Zakaria, and Madam Julia Asante from Stanbic Bank will testify on July 30.
Again, the current Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin who was Minister of Health in 2013, is expected in court on October 8, 2024, to testify alongside a former Director of the Public Procurement Authority, Mr. Silas Mensah.
