Aisha Huang used forged marriage certificate to acquire residence permit – Witness
Aisha Huang, who has pleaded not guilty, is facing four charges at the High Court relative to offences she committed between 2015-2017.
An Investigative Officer of the Ghana Immigration Service, Superintendent David Essien has testified to an Accra High Court that Chinese ‘galamsey' queen, En Huang, also known as Aisha Huang, forged a marriage certificate, and a Ghanaian passport to acquire a permanent residence permit.
Superintendent David Essien, who is attached to the Kumasi Enforcement Unit of the Ghana Immigration Service, is the second prosecution witness in the ongoing trial.
According to the witness, during investigations in 2016, it was found that Aisha Huang had forged documents of a “supposed marriage with a Ghanaian named Anthony Fabian.”
He further told the court during cross-examination that in accordance with section 22(2a) of the Immigration Act, 2000 (Act 573), the Comptroller General of the Ghana Immigration Service revoked the permit on grounds of fraudulent misrepresentation, which was then followed by her repatriation on December 19, 2018.
Aisha Huang, who has pleaded not guilty, is facing four charges at the High Court relative to offences she committed between 2015-2017.
The case continues today, November 15, 2022, where lawyers of the accused would continue with cross-examination of the witness.
