The Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame has been adjudged 2021 best Minister by FAKS Investigative Services for his handling of the 499 Law Students admission impasse.

According to FAKS, their choice and selection of the AG were informed by the excellent manner in which he was able to resolve and bring finality to the admission impasse of the 499 Law students who were initially denied admission to the Ghana School of Law for not attaining the 50% threshold mark.

Presenting a plaque to the Attorney General on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, the leader of FAKS, Yaw Sarpong noted that his outfit surveyed all the Ministers under the Akuffo Addo Government out of which the AG stood tall.

In addition to his role in securing admission for the students, the FAKS leader mentioned that their survey respondents also pointed out the Attorney General’s role in winning the Norway Chancery case for the nation and his exquisite transformation of the Registrar General’s Department of Ghana.

In receiving the plaque, the Attorney General, Godfred Dame revealed that in dealing with the issue of the 499 students, he had to apply great zealousness and skill in handling the competing interests of the General Legal Council that had made that decision and the demand by the students.

He stated that the award reminds him of the fact that the AG is the gap keeper relative to the enhancement of accountability, good governance, and the provision of a peaceful and sound atmosphere for businesses in Ghana thus promising to use the best of his abilities to promote the same.
