Access to Justice in Ghana: Prof Richard Oppong commends Justice Locator, MarryRight

A Professor of Law at the California Western School of Law and a Fellow of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Science, Prof Richard Frimpong Oppong has commended Dennislaw Ghana for its investment in Justice Technology in Ghana.

According to him, Dennislaw is one of the few companies in Ghana that is making investments in technologies aimed at making justice more accessible to the public.

Speaking at Day One of the 55th Series of the JB Danquah Memorial Lecture at the Ghana Academy of Arts and Science on February 21, 2022, he further commended Justice Locator and MarryRight both products by Dennislaw for the exceptional role in improving access to justice for the ordinary man in Ghana.

“The broader purpose of improving access to justice for the ordinary man in Ghana remains subsidiary. There are few exceptions, including Justice Locator and MarryRight, both developed by Dennis Law,” he said.

Justice Locator is a mobile application designed to assist with ordinary access to justice in Ghana and help legal practitioners manage their court diaries with ease.

MarryRight is a website to educate people on marriage in Ghana. It sets out the procedures for legally registering a marriage. It also assists prospective couples with accessing the relevant materials and institutions for marriage.

The J. B. Danquah Memorial Lecture Series was inaugurated in 1968 in memory of Danquah, who was also a founding member of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences (GAAS). The Danquah Institute was set up in commemoration of his work and to promote his ideas posthumously.
