The Accra Circuit Court has adjourned the ongoing case involving Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, to November 26, 2025, pending the arrival of a new judge to take over proceedings.

Abronye, who serves as the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is standing trial on charges of offensive conduct and publication of false news. He has pleaded not guilty and remains on GH¢50,000 bail.

The charges stem from comments he allegedly made during a live broadcast on Ohia TV, where he is said to have made disparaging remarks about the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno.

Prosecutors allege that during the programme, Abronye described the IGP as having a “low Intelligence Quotient (IQ)” and being “the most foolish IGP in the history of Ghana.”

In addition, he is accused of spreading false information on September 3, 2025, during another episode of The Evidence on Ohia Online TV, claiming that “all strategic meetings conducted by the NDC in Akwatia had the IGP in attendance.”

The case, which has attracted significant public interest, will resume next month once the new presiding judge is assigned.
