Richard is standing trial for murdering two minors and keeping their bodies in a refrigerator at Abesim, near Sunyani.
The Abessim murder case involving the draughtsman, Richard Appiah, has been adjourned again due to the absence of jurors.
Richard is standing trial for murdering two minors and keeping their bodies in a refrigerator at Abesim, near Sunyani.
On June 11, 2024, a case management completion plan was expected to be agreed upon by the parties for the trial to commence.
This, however, did not happen owing to the ongoing strike by jurors over their 10-month unpaid allowances.
An attorney for the state therefore prayed for directions from the court.
The court, presided over by Justice Ruby Aryeetey, thus adjourned the case to July 1, 2024.
On August 20, 2021, the police arrested Appiah for allegedly killing three children and keeping some body parts in a fridge in his room.
The suspect is alleged to have murdered his stepbrother and two others, aged between 12 and 15 years.
He was arrested after a relative of one of the victims reported to the Sunyani Police about his missing son on August 20, 2021.
The accused, Richard Appiah, also said to be a footballer, has meanwhile pleaded not guilty to the killing of two minors, namely Louis Agyemang, 12, and Stephen Sarpong, 15, and has been charged with two counts of murder.
