A/R: Man kills wife in the presence of daughter, attempts suicide afterwards

The wife of a 48-year-old who threatened divorce has reportedly been shot and killed by her husband at the Aswuafuo-Asamang in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District in the Ashanti Region.

The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Vida, and the suspect, Bashiru Kophy Nyaniba. The incident is said to have occurred at 1 am, in the presence of the couple’s daughter.

According to reports available to Dennislaw News, the couple had suffered series of unresolved marital issues. Relatives of the family who spoke to the media however disclosed that these matters had since been resolved.

On the day of Vida’s death, it is reported that the couple had another argument at dawn. This drew the attention of their 13-year-old daughter in the single-room apartment in which they lived, who tried to calm rising tempers. This proved futile nonetheless, as Bashiru allegedly fired twice at close range, resulting in Vida’s death, near their single-room residence.

They had three children. It is further reported that Bashiru had another child with another woman.
