7 police officers promoted over role in Tema anti-robbery operation

Seven police officers in Tema have been promoted after their role in a recent anti-robbery operation that ended with two suspected robbers being shot and weapons recovered.

The incident followed a robbery attack on a mobile money vendor at Tema Community 5, to which the officers responded. Police said the intervention led to the recovery of a firearm, ammunition and other exhibits.
Those elevated are Chief Inspector Enoch Nartey Nuer, Inspector Gershon Dekpey, Inspector Prince Asante, Sergeant Lukman Mohammed, Sergeant Eugene Kuudouru, Corporal Jerome Akator and Lance Corporal Jonathan Sewurah.
The promotions were announced as the IGP, together with members of the Police Management Board, commended the officers for what was described as courage, discipline and dedication in the line of duty.
Mr Yohuno also used the occasion to remind the promoted officers that advancement in rank comes with greater responsibility. He further called on personnel across the Ghana Police Service to remain professional and committed in the discharge of their duties.
