Seven Nigerians who are suspects of human trafficking have been remanded into lawful custody by an Accra Circuit Court.

They are Osas Vincent, Kennedy Anthony, Godson Iyan Inye, Junior Ayala Ariyo, Desmond Johnson, Andrew Gabriel, Ebedebi Ayaye Friday, and Williams Ogbemedia Idemudia alias chairman who is on the run

On September 26, 2022, the Economic and Organised Crime Office(EOCO) based on intelligence, embarked on a swoop at Manhean, Obeyeyie in the Greater Accra Region.

As a result, 28 Nigerians suspected of engaging in Cyber Security activities were taken into custody.

However, after being screened, the Office found 21 of them as being victims of Human Trafficking from Nigeria to Ghana.

The seven, who were suspected to be responsible for the trafficking, were processed before the Circuit Court in Accra.

A motion for bail made by their lawyer was however refused by the court and thus remanded them into the EOCO custody to re-appear on October 17.

In all, the suspects are facing 24 counts of human trafficking, assault, and participating in organized crime but have all denied the charges.
