21 new Circuit Court judges appointed

In accordance with article 148 of the 1992 Constitution, they were appointed by the Chief Justice, acting on the advice of the Judicial Council.

The Judicial Service has added 21 new names to Ghana’s current list of Circuit Court Judges.

With most of them appointed mainly from District Magistrates Courts, their elevation as Circuit Court Judges means the current number of Circuit Court judges becomes 100.

In accordance with article 148 of the 1992 Constitution, they were appointed by the Chief Justice, acting on the advice of the Judicial Council.

According to official sources, the following is the list of newly appointed Circuit Court judges,

Festus Fovi Nukunu, appointed from District Court, Dunkwa-on-Offin.

Kwesi Appiatse Abaidoo, appointed from District Court, Akim Oda.

Fred Obikyere, appointed from District Court ‘B’, Sunyani.

Nana Asibey Osei, appointed from District Court ‘2’, Amasaman.

Isaac Apeatu, appointed from District Court, Agona Swedru.

Joseph Nadaado Mcali Jnr, appointed from District Court, Community Centre, Tema.

Jojo Amoah Hagan, appointed from District Court ‘2’, Madina.

Rosemond Dodua Agyiri, appointed from District Court ‘1’, Kaneshie

Robert Addo, appointed from District Court ‘1’, Ho.

James Kojo Botah, appointed from District Court, Cape Coast.

Isaac Oheneba-Kuffour, appointed from District Court, Winneba.

Maame Efua Tordimah, appointed from District Court, Madina.

Akosua Anokyewaa Adjepong, appointed from District Court, Tema.

Angela Attachie, appointed from District Court, Takoradi Harbour Area.

Lily Amoah-Kankam, District Court, Tepa.

El-Alawa Halimah Abdul-Baasit – Legal practitioner (Senior Associate, Inusah, Inusah and Associates).

Henrietta Charway – Legal practitioner (K-San Law Firm).

The rest are Simon Gaga, Matilda Ribeiro, Sumaila Mbache Ahmadu and Kizita Naa Koowa Quarshie.
