12 arrested over communal clashes in North-East Region
The suspects are said to have been involved in the burning down of 16 houses, and the killing of many livestock.
12 persons have been arrested in the Chereponi district of the North-East Region, following communal clashes last month, a police statement said.
The suspects are said to have been involved in the burning down of 16 houses, and the killing of many livestock.
“The Police through an intelligence-led operation during the wee hours of 24th August 2022 arrested 12 persons for their involvement in the clashes,” authorities noted.
They are: Sulemana A. Mumuni, Salifu Abdulai, Sulemana Seidu, Alidu Mukaila, Adam Naaba, Alhassan Nasona, Bawah Yakubu Ibn Mohammed, Bawah Sake, Imoro Bomah, Imoro Karim, Adams Nasona and Abdulai Yussif.
They will be arraigned today, August 25, 2022, the statement further noted.
