‘Ghost’ scare at Kwadaso Agric ends in police case against TikToker

What residents of Agric first feared was a ghost turned out to be a familiar face allegedly dressed in white and entering the room of a dead friend.

The incident, which occurred in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region, has led to a police case involving Nana Akua, also known on TikTok as Mama Gee or Akua Sikapa.

She was reportedly found on Saturday evening inside the room of the late Mrs Osei Bonsu, who died a few weeks earlier.

Residents say the unusual appearance of the suspect caused panic in the area.

She was allegedly covered in a white cloth from head to body, creating the impression of a ghost-like figure around the deceased woman’s residence.

Neighbours became suspicious after noticing movement near the late woman’s room.

According to an eyewitness, Matilda, residents initially became frightened when they saw someone dressed in white attempting to access the room.

“We were afraid because we thought it was a ghost,” she said.

The fear later turned into alarm after residents realised the figure was human.

They began shouting for help, attracting some youth in the area.

The suspect was then apprehended.

Residents say she was allegedly removing clothes from the wardrobe of the deceased when she was caught.

When questioned, Nana Akua reportedly claimed she had been experiencing spiritual disturbances from her late friend.

She allegedly said a fetish priest had instructed her to take some of the deceased woman’s clothes for a ritual to stop the disturbances.

Community members say the suspect and the deceased were not strangers.

They were said to have belonged to the same group, where the late Mrs Osei Bonsu served as leader and Nana Akua acted as her assistant.

The suspect was later handed over to the Ghana Police Service for questioning.

Police say investigations are ongoing to determine the real motive behind the alleged entry into the room.

Investigators are also expected to establish whether she acted alone.

The incident has left residents unsettled, with many calling for a full inquiry into what happened at the late woman’s residence.
