A legal book that even the ordinary Ghanaian can read and understand, ‘Everyday law for Everyday People’ by lawyer Daniel Korang wants to fill a void.

The sole intention is to explain basic laws that affect people in their daily lives – the kind of thing non-lawyers can easily understand.

The author calls it becoming “a pocket lawyer”, as the book will provide guidance in making important decisions that require basic knowledge and understanding of the law.

It covers areas on marriage, divorce, joint ownership of spousal property, acquiring landed property in Ghana, gifts, intestate succession law, contract law, arrest and use of force by the police, bail, plea bargaining, labour law, human rights law, defamation, ADR, criminal procedure, civil procedure and more.

“Everyday Law for Everyday People brings the law to you in a fascinating manner. The author adopts questions and answers approach. It covers every conceivable question one may ask on any legal matter that affects life.

As the cover of the book depicts, the book may be used in the market square, at the cinema, in the stadium, in trotro, at the beach, at church, in the mosque, in the lotto kiosk, and everywhere one finds oneself,” Mr. Korang explains.
